PHD Group completed the above project in 2011 and 2012 for United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)/Kathmandu, Nepal.

The above research work undertaken for FHD/MOHP supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)/ Nepal. The objectives of the study were:

  1. To investigate the condition related symptoms and quality of life of women suffering from high degree (min. Grade III) uterine prolapse before and 6 months after (surgical) intervention (vaginal hysterectomy).
  2. To evaluate the outcome of UP surgery intervention in terms of quality of life gain.

Enumeration of females was undertaken in 12 districts of the country where they completed 20-page long questionnaire. Over 400 women from about 400 households were interviewed. The data were edited, coded, computer entered and an SPSS system file was finally produced. The data was analysed to prepare a comprehensive report on women who had undergone prolapse uterine surgery.
